Foster homes provide a safe place for kittens and puppies to grow, homeless adults a relaxing environment, and sick or injured cats and dogs a chance to heal. If you would like to experience the joys of pet parenthood without the lifetime commitment of being an animal owner, consider opening your home to an animal in need of love and attention while waiting for their forever home. You'll receive unconditional love and the satisfaction of knowing you helped make a difference.
OUR FOSTER PLAN:
Once you decide to become a foster home, someone will talk with you to discuss our policy and procedures and answer any questions or concerns you might have.
- Before placing any pet into foster care they are thoroughly checked by a veterinarian and vaccinated.
- The Humane Society will provide you with food, litter, collars, bedding, toys and any other supplies as needed.
- If for any reason a foster placement does not work out we ask that you give us 48 hours to find a new suitable foster home.
ARE YOU READY?
Fostering a dog or cat in need of shelter, love and guidance is a time-consuming effort, but it’s also one of the most rewarding ways to help homeless animals.
Some animals are with you for a few days and others for months. While it is impossible not to become attached to a dog or cat . It’s necessary to keep your original goals in mind and remain committed to finding the animal a new family. Imagine how happy your foster pet will be in his or her new home and remember how you helped make it happen. All our adopters are required to complete an application and provide references. We are committed to finding responsible pet owners who will provide a happy, healthy home.
If you and your family feel you have the time and ability to provide a dog or cat with the socialization, exercise and positive stimulation it needs to become a great addition to someone’s home then contact Christa at 507-377-8501 or e-mail us at
